[And welcome to my little blog.]

I'm Amanda! So happy you are here. Grab a glass of wine, read along, and let's be friends.

TD Ameritrade Park - it's blog worthy.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011
Kevin and I hadn't planned on attending the opening night of the TD Ameritrade park tonight.  I had a condo association meeting and he plays intramural basketball on Tuesday nights.  But since we had free tickets (thanks Scott!), and the stadium was so close, and it was opening night at the new stadium, we decided there was no way we could pass it up.  We finally made it to the stadium during the 7th inning.

And just because I'm a dork like this, as soon as I stepped out of our condo I started a timer to see how long it would take to walk from our condo to the stadium.  9 minutes 37 seconds.  Not bad huh?  If we were walking at my ideal pace it probably would have taken over 12 minutes to walk there... I practically had to jog to keep up with Kevin.

When we got to the stadium we met up with Scott, Jolene, Beau, Joy, and Rauscher.  When I pulled out to take some pictures, Beau said, "Uh oh, I think this might end up on the blog!"  Ha!  You know me ;)

Here are a few snapshots:

I thought the stadium was awesome.  I like how you can see the field from the concession areas and I think Creighton baseball games and Nighthawks games are going to be a lot of fun.  And of course the College World Series is going to be amazing.

Last night they were practicing the fireworks for opening night.  All of a sudden we heard all these loud booms near our condo and couldn't figure out where it was coming from.  Finally we realized it might be fireworks and headed out to the roof.  Here was our view from our rooftop.

What did you guys think of the new stadium?

Looks like a lot of fun! I definitely want to get down there and check it out sometime! :) That'll be cool for you guys to be able to see the fireworks without even going anywhere too!

Stacie - let's go to a game together for the CWS. Wouldn't that be fun? And you guys can stay the night at our place if you'd like.

It's really good to watch the fireworks display at the rooftop. Actually, the rooftop is the best place to unwind and stare at the stars. This place is the perfect venue for a date or a wedding proposal.
